Sad Experience

After we submitted our school reports to our guidance counselor a while ago, Ate Queenie, Ate Lindy and I decided to go to mall. We had funny conversations while eating in Jollibee. After we had eaten our lunch, we have our picture taking at Fujifilm. A passport size picture is one of the requirements to complete our Personal Data Sheet. While waiting for the picture, we strolled for I think 30 minutes. Then we went back to get the picture. I really enjoyed their company. Above all this happy time, a sad experience happened. As we were about to exit, Ate Lindy saw couples eating ice cream, then she uttered “girls, let’s eat ice cream!”. And because of that we went inside and buy some ice creams. Ate Lindy wanted us to accompany her to buy some meat. Sad to say, she didn’t notice that she lost her wallet. We began to panic and find ways how to get the wallet and cell phone back. We went back and forth to our ways just to look for the lost cell phone and wallet. Hopelessly, we decided to go home and parted our ways with a sad experience

Badminton

One of the sports I like to play is Badminton. Badminton makes me perspires a lot. It can stretch out my muscles. Badminton is very enjoyable to play especially when you have challenging opponents. It can test your agility as well as your alertness in bouncing back the shuttlecock. This could be one of the activities I’ll enjoy this summer. If you have nothing to do this summer, try to play some of your favorite sports. I know you’ll be enjoying it for sure.

FOOD TRIP

Have you ever eaten an eggplant mixed with eggs? This is what we called “TORTANG TALONG” or “EGGPLANT OMELETTE”. It looks delicious right? It is absolutely delicious and nutritious. We happened to have a food trip together with my cousins Sarah, Micah, Mark and Bianca my friend and my special someone Omz. We had so much fun while making the tortang talong. I hope to have another food trip with them. Stay healthy!

My School Report

Each of us in our school is assigned to make reports in different subject areas for us to be cleared from school and enjoy the summer. My report is about the Reading Interventions in English. To broaden my knowledge about reading interventions, I do some researches in the Internet. I’m very thankful that with the help of this new technology, things are done easily. Some of the reading interventions I’ve read, one of the most applicable intervention in our school is what we called the PHIL-IRI or the Philippine Reading Inventory under the ECARP. The ECARP (Every Child a Reader Program) provides this kind of interventions, both in oral and silent reading. The Phil-Iri is very useful because this can provide useful information to students about their progress, to parents about achievements and skills that need improvement and to teachers about appropriate instruction. There is much information I acquired that could come to a good and informative report. The data’s were provided by our school guidance counselor and I have to finish this report as soon as possible for consolidation.

NCBT-TSNA Seminar

After the activities, a 2-day seminar happened in our school. As a professional teacher, I am constantly interacting with people in the school and in community. It’s an opportunity for me to attend this kind of seminar because it can enhance my teaching skills as well as my behavior as a teacher. The NCBT (National Competency-Based Teacher Standards) provides us some evaluation to our selves with the use of TSNA (Teacher Strengths and Needs Assessment). The knowledge that I acquired from this seminar would be a great help for me to become a more effective teacher. Through this seminar, I realized that I should be actively involved with learners, fellow teachers, school officials and community leaders. With the use of TSNA toolkit, I can determine my personal and professional strengths as well as my professional needs along the national competencies required of the Filipino teachers. I have to attend more seminars and workshops related to my teaching profession especially to cope up with my weaknesses. Above all, my professional development will ensure quality education through improved learning outcomes of the students. Maybe I’ll be learning more and more strategies and techniques in teaching.

An Inpiring Message

At last! The graduation ceremony was very successful. I was so happy that we finally made it. All the hard works and stressful days have come up into a successful event through the united teaching force of our school. All the invited visitors and guests came to witness the achievements of the graduates. It really touches my heart when I saw the faces of the parents watching their children up on stage receiving their academic and non-academic awards as well their diplomas. They can’t hide the joy they felt inside. How proud they were pinning the awards to their children. There was a part in the ceremony when I can’t help my tears from falling down. It was when the guest speaker, a teacher, shared her experiences to the graduates. I just can’t forget what she had said that “poverty is not a hindrance to achieve your goals in life”. As she was delivering her speech, telling the graduates how lucky they were that they have their parents with them, she became emotional. She remembered the sacrifices she had made before. It was a great speech and really can inspire the young ones. Most of the graduates cried because they can relate with what the speaker shared to them. Poverty and lack of parents’ guidance could be a great impact not to finish schooling. The speaker encouraged the graduates to pursue their dreams no matter what obstacles they met and will be meeting in the future. For me, her speech would be great help for the young ones to awaken their minds that life is a journey, in which the years go by. Sometimes the road is level sometimes the hills are high. A shared experience could inspire and teach us lessons in life. Let’s continue inspiring each other.

The RED Ball Pen

FAILURE IS NOT DEFEAT UNLESS YOU STOP TRYING

This looks familiar to you right, this is used by us teachers to check test papers, writing notebooks, spelling booklets and marking failing grades. I’m a primary teacher and red ball pen is very useful for me. They say that the teachers are making students’ grades but the truth is the students are the one making their own grades and we just record it. I know that this colored red pen maybe scary for students especially when it comes to receiving their report card. When they see a final grade marked with red, it means they failed. They have to be retained in the grade level. In life, failures will strengthen our weaknesses and encouraged us to strive hard.Teachers are there to encourage every students especially for those who needs guidance. Don’t lose hope.

MY TASK

DON'T WASTE YOUR HOUR, THE SET SETS SOON

Hello people! It’s Sunday and I’m so pressured thinking that the task assigned to me is not yet finish. I was assigned to make the Recognition Program in our school that will be happening on April 1, 2009 at 1:00pm. I have so many things to prepare like academic rewards to the student (ribbons and medals) and the program where the names of the honors and meritorious students are listed in there. Although I’m pressured right now, I can’t deny to myself that im also excited that the recognition is fast approaching. I have just contact one of my closest co-teacher to help me with the program, actually we are tasked to do this. But because of some circumstances, I have to do this alone. I can do this! Have a nice day!

Choosing the Right One

Who’s the one for you? Who’s the one for me?

There are millions of men out there; we’ll have to deal with different personalities. For all single ladies out there who are still searching for their right partner in life, you have to figure out what kind of man he is. Some of us have set standards in choosing their ideal man. Why am I interested to this kind of topic? It’s because I’m still in the process of knowing the right one for me. Though it takes time to know your man better, we have to be patient. I have read from a certain book that says “people are complex” that their personalities may overlaps. Absolutely, as an educator, I’m looking for someone who can understand my school works. For someone who has sense of humor and open minded. My mind is not only focusing on things that I will be teaching to my students but also for my own. As much as possible I have to evaluate my self too not only my students for me to know the right answer. Hilarious but so true! Choosing the right partner is hard to do.Be wise!

Be Witty....

The highest reward for reading a good book is not what you get from it, but what you become by reading it”.

Reading is acquiring knowledge at the same time application of what you have read. I’m reading a certain book right now and I want to share it with you. It contains short and witty sayings. I love the idea of reading books that can help me dealing with my life. Here are some of the witty sayings which I’m sure you’ll like:

“A good book is the best of friends; the same today and forever.”

“A healthy poor man is half a rich one”.

“A little bird is content with a little nest”.

“If you think safety is expensive then try accident”.

“If and When were planted, and nothing grew”.

“No opportunity is lost; the other fellow takes it.”

“There is beauty even in the ugly things”.

“Those who wish to sing always find a song”.

This might just simple sentences but try to internalize the meaning behind it. You can apply this witty sayings in your life.

Creative and Witty Cousin

Hi everyone, this is my beautiful and intelligent cousin. Her name is Manilyn, but we call her lingling, lingz or “kulot”. We called her “kulot” for she has this curly hair .She is one of my “coolest cousins”. Cool in the sense that she’s flexible .I would just like to thank her for inviting me to join blog. They know that I’m a primary teacher but at for this time, she’s my teacher. She taught me about this blog and she arouses my interests. Instead of forcing me to join, she encouraged me by letting me visit her blog. Again and again girl, thank you so much and I hope that you will continue your good traits. Keep up the good work and in times of trouble don’t forget to seek the creators help.

Learning by doing

These children are my mother’s pupils. They’re doing the “melting crayons” activity. As we look into their faces, they’re looking serious right? Of course, they are because they’re afraid that they might burn their fingers. This activity implies that children learned things but putting it into practice. Although there are possibilities that they might get hurt their selves, they are allowed to do things alone but with guidance. After an hour of doing the activity, their outputs are being posted for them to see what they have done. Just believe in yourself. You can do it!

She Left Us

Its summer time! It is now indeed summer and every one of us now are making plans on how and where to spend summer. I’m thinking of what will be my plans to make my summer enjoyable and unforgettable. After almost 9 months of spending my time in school teaching students, it’s time for me to unwind. I want to do things that I used to do before like playing balls games every day with my childhood friends and neighbors. We spend every now and then playing volleyball. Sad to say but one of my closed friends had just passed away. But as what they say, life is a journey, we must go on. Although sometimes I missed her especially now that its summer, this is the time when we bond together for I have no school works to do. I know that she’s happy watching us right now even though her presence is not here but here in my heart I know she’s playing with us.

Greetings to all graduates

Congratulations to all the graduates of 2008-2009! Now that the school year ends, I would like to extend my greetings to all the graduates in any school levels. I know that all the graduates are very much excited to march on the aisle waiting for their names to be called and get their diplomas and certificates. I’m pretty much sure also that the parents are overwhelmed and happy witnessing their child’s achievements. Students achievement is also a teachers achievements.

How I Teach.......

Nowadays, we can observe that teaching is adapting the use of high technology. But for me, traditional teaching is also an effective way. Chalks, blackboards and erasers are my medium for teaching. I uses some attractive instructional materials but most of the time, these three things are present. It’s very enjoyable to teach young ones how to write, read and comprehend. Writing is also important things to be learned by the students. As much as possible, I have to write on the board legibly for them to practice and identify each letters correctly. Funny but its true that, what they see is what they get. What you write is what they copy. Patience is the key for a better teaching. There are individual differences that I had encountered while teaching the students in writing. There are students that are fast learners as well as slow learners. Every stroke of writing a letter should be observed especially in cursive writing. Step by step the student will learn and I have to be patient for them to be encouraged to write words legibly and neatly.
No matter how the technology influenced the ways of teaching through high technology, it would a great help for the young children if we teach them traditionally.

The Best Place For Me To Go!

Please, I need some space! These words are being uttered by me in times that I feel empty. We can’t deny the fact that sometimes we’re confused in the things that are happening in our life. Does it make us happy or not? When these times come, I would preferably go to places like this. There came a time when I feel so empty and I need to be alone. I went to the beach exactly the time when the sun sets down. As I was internalizing how I feel at that moment of time, I can’t help myself from crying. Does this make sense? Yes it is! Through this, I can express myself although I really don’t understand what I am feeling at that time. For sure, you experienced something like this in your life. That you really want to cry but you don’t know why. When you experienced this kind of situation, just go to places where you can outburst your feelings and don’t ever forget to seek the creators’ help.

VALUE INFUSION

Looks interesting right? It was an opportunity for me to visit a Day Care Center in our place. I was able to witness one of their activities in early childhood care and development program. This is called a child-parent activity which is known as “tracing the child”. It catches my attention when I saw the faces of the young ones smiling and tickling with their parent. This activity involves personal relationship within a child and a parent. It really touches my heart when I saw them very happy while doing the activity. It shows that there is a bond built between the child and the parent. You can really identify if the parent really cared about her child through their output. The parents really make sure that their child will be happy after seeing the drawings. For me, this is one of the most effective ways of building a good relationship between a child and a parent.

At last, I finally get into it!

This is me, looking so happy proudly saying, I got it. It isn’t easy to have an opportunity of having a job like this. That now I could say, I’m one of the luckiest people in the world. I remembered when our guest speaker in our graduation said, welcome to an unemployed world. It really bothers me a lot, know why? It’s because I thought that having a college degree is enough. But facing the truth, it isn’t really enough! Another trials and obstacles are coming into our ways. We cannot predict what will happen to us in the future. Are we going to succeed or not, but wherever path we will take, stay focused and determined. Just like I said, I’m lucky because I was able to pass the licensee examination for teachers for just one take and able to get the appointment for being a regular teacher in one of the schools in our place. Am I really lucky right? I’m very blessed for I had easily got a job. I enjoy what I am doing right now, teaching children with the knowledge I acquired before and the knowledge that I will be learning in the future.
